Where are All The Children

Youth Homelessness is now at an alarming level!  Last week, I was talking with parents on my grand daughter's  elementary school playground about the youth homelessness epidemic, and one parent was actually surprised that there were not only homeless youth, but that the number of them was high and rapidly climbing.  I asked her a simple question, when parents and entire family become homeless and sleeping in the streets, where do you think the children go?  Where  do you think the pets go?

Unfortunately, many people think homelessness is  limited to adults and that it is the result of a person being derelict  in taking care of his or her business. They believe is due to something the person did or did not do which was irresponsible.  The truth is, many people, many professionals, and  others are just one pay check away from being homeless.  It not always their fault.  Many people work two and three jobs, but still can not make ends meet with the salary they bring earn  Just think of the cost of living, which is always climbing, what can you do when your income doesn't come,  or its not enough and you can't make it?


I invite you to join me in my quest to raise funds for homeless youth shelters because they are greatly needed.  Homelessness is a epidemic and it is not going away unless we work to eradicate it.  A few collective dollars will make all the difference when it means you have no other option than sleeping in the streets.  Why not skip that daily coffee and donate it to the cause?  For some, it is a matter of life and death.
